Hey Everyone, welcome back for another Howtechs.com product review.
Today we’re going to be reviewing the leather TipTop case
by Taiwan-based manufacturer ‘Acase’.
This is a well made case for the iPad Air
that features a real leather wrap around cover
and a polycarbonate back that snaps onto the back of your iPad Air.
Its slim and doesn’t add much to the overall thickness of the iPad.
The black leather cover perfectly fits over the iPad’s screen
and includes stitching around the edges
as well as a small lip to make opening the case quick and easy.
The cover also has a built in magnet similar to Apple’s Smart Cover.
The magnets make sure the cover snaps closed
and can also automatically wake up the screen when the cover is opened.
Leather wraps around the iPad screen
and covers a majority of the back side of the case as well.
It is attached to a black polycarbonate case
that snaps onto the back of the iPad
providing a snug, secure fit and protecting the corners of the iPad.
The polycarbonate back cover features cutouts
around all the key features of the iPad Air, including
the rear facing camera,
speakers
and headphone
and the lightning cable port.
It is important to note that
this case does not cover your iPad’s front and back completely in leather,
the polycarbonate shell is visible from the back.
Like Apple’s Smart Case
and many other cases available on the market,
the front cover can be folded back to serve as a stand for the iPad
when you want to tilt it up for easier viewing.
Unlike the Smart Case however,
the TipTop by Acase allows you to adjust the angle more precisely
by letting you pick between multiple groves on the inside of the cover,
this is a real bonus as it allows for better viewing
for a variety of distances and heights of the surface the iPad is placed on.
Overall the quality of the materials and workmanship for the Acase is good.
It definitely looks professional,
fits well and should protect your iPad Air well against minor scratches and bumps.
It works well as a stand with multiple viewing angle options as well.
