The Pittsburg State University Golf Team opened their 2010 fall season on Monday
at the Lincoln University Classic at Old Kinderhook Golf Course in Camdenton, MO. This will be
the first of four fall meets for the Gorillas this year. Head Coach Matt Brock and the Gorillas
were excited about the squad's prospects heading into their season debut. Coach Brock: We've really been not
where we wanted to be the last couple years kind of on the bottom looking up I think we
have the talent and I think we have the influx of new guys along with the good strong junior
class that really can be a lot more competitive in this league. I'd like to see us in the top half of the league.
Announcer: Junior Fletcher Harder will be counted upon to be one of the squad's top scorers
this year. The emporia native is entering his third year in the Pitt State program and
is looking to have a promising season. Harder: Well we've got six returners and we've been really
close the last couple years to playing good we just haven't put rounds together as a team
and everybody is capable of shooting low numbers and we just have to get it done. Announcer: Along with Harder
Juniors Bren Fisher and Garrett Fowler and sophomore Clay Crawford a transfer from Independence
Community College and Seth Rhoads are competing on the links for Pitt State at the Lincoln Classic.
