The distance learning course is ideal for people who work in other fields.
Over the years, it's proved very popular with people who have other jobs
and especially with women who've taken time out to have a family
and then consider teaching as a profession.
This allows you to keep working part-time
and to complete the course in your own home over two years.
It's a PGDE via distance learning,
either in primary or secondary-school teaching.
I earned a degree through the Open University,
and worked for Comunn na Gàidhlig for a number of years.
I then took a postgrad at Aberdeen,
having worked for Comunn na Gàidhlig for 15 years.
It's great for people who want to live in a specific area,
say the Highlands or Western Isles.
The distance learning course is ideal for people who don't want to leave home.
It's fantastic, and means you can work from home,
and not have the expense of moving to Glasgow, Edinburgh or elsewhere.
It's a wonderful opportunity.
There weren't many students on the course,
so we worked together as a group.
We had all the facilities too, which was fantastic.
and we had tutors here to help and support us
and to answer our questions.
We had everything, just on a smaller scale.
I found it hard at first, because I'd come from an office environment,
and was used to different working practices,
but keep at it, and you'll get there.
