Halliwick concept is based on 10 points. The first point psychological adaptation to water.
For the first point, we use exercises such as blowing holes in the water, blowing over
plastic hats, washing of the face and ears or diving under in the water.
Second point is Independence. It is used to aid mental separation between the swimmer and the instructor.
We use exercises such as walking in different directions, turning the swimmer away from
the instructor so that eye contact is lost, passing swimmers to different instructors,
and an exercise called space ship where the swimmers go around the instructor.
Third point is transversal rotation.
Transversal rotation is required for the swimmer to be able to lie down on
the water surface and return to vertical position. Through transversal rotation the swimmer develops
better control of the body in sagittal plane and contributes to the better reactions of the swimmer.
One of the characteristic exercises is called the bell.
