Hi, am Alfonso Barraza
and I am from Sheldon high school
Sacramento, California. This summer I was given the opportunity to
intern here at the UC Davis Institute researchers
I got to work with real professionals who work in the field of stem cell medicine
and gene therapy. So, I got to work with a lot of
DNA and enzymes and viruses
mainly and stuff at our lab
at the bench I do a lot of enzyme digest
with the plasmids that we use for viruses
we are giving them an experience in the summer to work with the best
and really most highly advanced stem cell centers
in the state of California
of course UC Davis is among them. These people are professionals in their field
this is
this is what they do for a living. but they're also very
very open to questions is really nice to
be able to ask all the questions that I I thought of
so it was really awesome and I enjoyed it
and it gave me a taste of what this is like. What I will be
doing daily basis if I choose this as my career so it's really helped me,
I guess...see.
Even if you are not interested in science it's a really great
opportunity to learn about things that you never thought of before.
this is really, really great opportunity
and I would definitely recommend it.
