Well, the first album that we'll talk about this week
is from the German metalcore band Heaven Shall Burn
the band was formed in 1996, and is releasing their seventh album called "Veto".
It's aggressive German metal.
You're gonna like it ok? The second album that we will speak of here
is Device's, David Drainman's solo project, lead singer of Disturbed
It's more of an industrial sound. More aggressive. But with David on vocals,
it sounds like Disturbed. If you haven't heard it, check it out here
on Youtube. I'll put the link here below.
But it is pretty nice. Go get it without a doubt.
Device, David Drainman's solo album. Got it? Next!
We'll start today a new segment in the program, not so new, but we tried to do it in the
first episode. But it didn't work because we had a mainstream band.
So we opened our space to Brazilian independent bands, 'cause we have a lot of
good stuff coming out here in Brazil. So, the first band that we'll feature
is John Wayne. A band from here, São Paulo
formed in 2010. The band's name is a protest against human cruelty
and it's derived from a American serial killer called
John Wayne Gacy. They got the name to make a statement,
a great idea. The band's lyrics are in Brazilian Portuguese
with yelled, angry, metalcore vocals. The band
bet on Portuguese lyrics, they in Portuguese, and it seems to be working,
Really cool!
Let's talk a little about the band. In 2010, they released their first Single.
Then in 2011, another Single called "Aliança". With this, they were able
to unite different metal scenes here in São Paulo
also in 2011, the band Lamb Of God,
you all know them, made a mention
about John Wayne on Twitter,
and added the band as a favorite friend, #FF
That was really good promo. It's really nice to have
some kind of support
from a big band like this.
In 2012, the band released their first full album called "Tempestade"
It's available for download on the JW website. I'll put the link below.
This album's artwork was created by an artist from the Philippines, *** Emperado,
who's worked with bands like Suicide Silence. Very cool,
the artwork is really great. I'll put it here for you to see it,
it's amazing. He did a fantastic job.
In 2013, the lineup of the band changed. Edu Garcia took over the drums,
giving a the band a new touch.
So, the current lineup is Fabio Figueiro on
vocals
Rogério Torres, guitars. Júnior Dias, guitars. Denis Dallago on
bass and Edu Garcia at drums.
Well, the video that I chose to show here is from the song "Tempestade". They made a
lyric video for this song, pretty cool. It was released
last year.
An interesting fact about this clip: only 3 days after the video was uploaded on YouTube,
it already had eleven thousand views! Let's check it out,
I'll put it on and be back later for a little more.
"Tempestade" with John Wayne. First video clip here. Let's go!
So, did you like it?
Really aggressive sound. Great sound. Kids are digging it.
They've been playing concerts for 1000,
1500 people. Enjoy it. I'll leave the John Wayne link here
At the bottom.
You guys can download the album, find out more about the band.
You noticed I cut the show in two parts, like I mentioned before on the teaser
I put online over the weekend,
The next episode will air on Thursday
I hope you enjoyed it. If you did, please, gives us a "thumbs up" and subscribe.
