There's a simple reason for coming to the U.S. and that is that it's truly a land of
opportunity. Here I believe that my child can actually succeed and become someone in
life. Here I can actually work to provide for her needs. She can get a proper education.
Where as in my country. she would of either gotten a low quality education or no education
at all. And here, she can get medical attention when she needs it. Again, in my country, it's
very difficult to get healthcare if she were to become sick or injured. The way things
were going in my country, it just wasn't working. Especially, since I am a single mother. It
was hard for me to provide for her basic necessities. So, that's the reason for coming to the U.S.
and the reason why I try to overcome any challenges that may come my way. Because, moving away
from your native land can be extremely difficult. You're far away from your home, from your
friends, from your family. And when you first come here, there is a big culture difference.
It's like you're starting over. You have almost nothing. You don't know anyone. And you do
almost anything to make ends meet, when you first come before things become more stable.
Although, all this can be difficult. You do it with an understanding, that you do it for
a purpose, and for me that purpose is my child. So that she can have opportunities that I
never had. The things I never had. And, that's all that matters to me.
