pattern
is often predictable would you like to know one way to take that predictable
pattern to a much greater
level love interest you're about to find out Adorama TV presents
you keep shooting with Bryan Petersen for young one
unique and creative techniques that were I was a kid tougher
skills has your host Bryan Petersen
I find myself here in the jewel in Georgia
otherwise known as Jekyll Island I'm on the bait and tackle island and I'm
surrounded by some phenomenal opportunities to photograph texture
in this case all this texture there from all of these trees that are here on
driftwood me high and Bryan Petersen and you're watching at a ramen TV
not got my 24-85 Nikkor that has a really wonderful
macropod feature that allows me to get remarkably close you're gonna find out
why in a moment I've chosen to use this lens
as far as this lens is concerned course it's available
at my friends at a ramen where I'm sure you know by now
the customer service is fantastic the prices are so darn all
I have to ask myself constantly why would anyone
shop anywhere else as far as the photograph for today I wanna stress
it's all about the Alamance and design which I talk a great deal about in my
book
learning casino creatively in particular
with all this texture in you will see link as one example
all these lines and the text from the web
that makes up wind inmates textures and all that combine
make some wonderful pattern nah I'm all for shooting
pictures like this up to a point
pattern tournament cell is incredibly predictable
and when I like to do is make things a little bit on predictable
how do you do that introduce something that doesn't yet
the pad in this case right here in my pocket earlier I found
roadside just up the street here some wild
Indian blanket flowers and a tenth of the stem
I play set up flower on top of this textured
and I make certain that I'm
parallel to this troop all
take a look at that real simple exposure
who cares aperture cuz everything that the same focus distance
so f11 in this case at 125th the second compare that to the same photograph but
I took earlier
with out the flower and this becomes very obvious
which photograph is a little bit more pleasing to the eye
is a few more examples were I've got a wonderful predictable background a
pattern
but I'd introduced something and doesn't pick the pad
less making its importance that much stronger
just a simple idea that I know you're gonna add
soon to your compositional array of ideas
and until next time this is Bryan Petersen saying
