Happy Wednesday Attackers. Bethany here with your daily MMO news for December 18th. On
today's show, Grand Theft Auto Online's new game mode, SMITE makes it rain and DayZ's
staggering numbers. Your news in 90 starts now.
Rockstar Games today announced the latest addition to the constantly expanding world
of Grand Theft Auto Online, with the introduction of Capture. These 4 new team-based game modes
are all built around the capture the flag style of mechanics and include Raid, Contend,
Hold and GTA. GTA is an interesting, Fast and Furious style take on CTF, as players
are tasked with stealing target vehicles across the map, while dodging opponents and staying
alive. SMITE introduced the God of Rain today, with
a powerful Axe and a beautifully choreographed rain dance, Chaac (shock) is a physical melee
warrior. Chaac's skills all start with his Thunder Strike, where he throws his Axe forward
while dealing damage to enemies in the target area. He can then use Torrent for a spin attack,
Rain Dance to slow enemies around him and Storm Call, his ultimate, to finish them off.
The DayZ Alpha is only two days old now, but a massive 175 thousand copies of the game
have been sold, reaching a staggering 142,000 concurrent players. Talk about huge numbers
for a game with very little content, and more bugs than a Bangkok street market. The $30
price tag doesn't seem to be a deterrent for hungry Zombie fans.
