It's 9:30 here in Gournay-en-Bray
and we're making an early start to head off to Paris.
120 km, stopping only for breakfast and lunch.
It's Sunday 28 September 2008, day 3 of the trip.
We're in Gournay-en-Bray and we're heading off to Paris,
the final stretch.
We've just passed 3 men who we saw earlier
drinking beer and eating hamburgers.
It's quite disheartening, but we're not far from the end.
These are the dying embers of day 3.
Paris, right behind us, looks beautiful. And we've got to go.
Mesdames et messieurs, bienvenue a paris!
We've just caught our first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower.
Now we just need to find out how to get there.
It's the end of day 3, 21:00, we're at the Eiffel Tower.
We've made it from London to Paris in 3 days of cycling.
We're having a beer and some noodles
in a little Chinese restaurant, just near the youth hostel.
The youth hostel, Vinnie adores.
He thinks it's the bee's knees and is itching to get back.
We're finishing dinner.
Vinnie, what do you think of the youth hostel?
I just don't like wading through pools of urine
to get to the shower.
And I'd like it if the ceiling wasn't collapsing.
Welcome to the seventh circle of hell,
where the word "comfort" has no meaning.
The windows don't open, the curtains don't close,
but we've survived one night in the Paris youth hostel.
This has been the toughest part of the trip so far.
A truly beautiful view of Paris from our youth hostel window.
I can't even go to the toilet. There isn't one!
After 300 km on the road, we reach our final destination,
the Gare du Nord, in the heart of Paris.
The end is nigh, hopefully.
We're just waiting to board our Eurostar back to London.
With luck, our bikes will be on it.
It's 17:40 at the Gare du Nord.
We've been queuing for about 3 hours.
It's been fun but this is the last step, on to the train.
It's the end of the trip in France, for now.
Goodbye.
That's it, we've both made it back home intact.
Our bikes didn't make it on to the same train
but they should be available to collect very soon.
It's been a really great trip, a lot of fun.
Thanks for watching. Goodbye.
That's going to look ridiculous.
Cut! Cut!
It's Saturday evening,
here in wherever the hell we are.
Let's do that again.
We'll be heading off from Trafalgar...
We're stood under the watchful gaze of Admiral Nelson.
Not Nelson Nelson.
Tractor!
No, wait. Listen to this.
When she realised we were English...
It's true though.
When you thought she was... That we...
OK, do it again.
This isn't going to work.
- Are you filming? - Yes.
- Are you still filming? - Yes.
Hello, listeners.
Welcome to the final leg of London to Brighton.
Where are we going again? London to Newhaven?
It's now 18:40.
Is it? No, 17:40, in France.
It's 20:00 on day 3.
I was going to say "it's the dying embers".
That sounds cooler.
I think it's...
I think it's aliens. From Close Encounters.
- Who's that, Vinnie? - That is ***.
He's just jumped the entire queue.
He's smooth.
It's understood that the horses
are actually staying in this hotel.
It could be.
- What? - Didn't you just do this one?
- I'm doing it again. - Oh, are you?
Let's start again. Once more.
- Is it filming? - Yes.
I can't talk to Cass now. Her dad is doing a radio link.
I'll say, Cass I love you to bits!
Vinnie is recording.
It's been a...
