[Intro - richardstep.com]
Hi. This is Richard Stephenson at richardstep.com .
I recently heard of fellow in Houston. A brother of a great-great-great-great-great-grandpa's
cousin-in-law, who was an early adopter of the printed book.
When he first bought his book, he was eager to show it off.
Frequently bringing it to coffee houses to bask in the glow of adulation from curious
onlookers.
And then came the iPad.
This man now does his book reading in the privacy of his own home.
Embarrassed to bring his relic out in public.
He is what I call:
Book-Shame.
How can one even begin to compare the awesome that is iPad to the anti-awesome that is printed
books?
The iPad does "save-my-baby-from-a-fire" feautures such as:
-Grind coffee -Schedule doctors appointments
-Change your oil -And even make bacon from thin air.
What did a printed book ever do for you? -They're heavy and get dirty
-You have to turn your own pages -and they don't even read themselves
-And I don't know about you but they're never made me bacon
Do all of the "Book-Shame" people a favor and just look away the next time you are flaunting
your fancy iPad around as they literally thumb through trees of soy-ink archaic story-telling.
Forever envious of the iPad's ability to conquer an ever-expanding market of perpetual obsolescence.
Oops.
[Scene changes - goofiness dropped]
Just getting a little silly here.
I have Google Alerts setup to notify me anytime there is news about "Richard Stephenson",
but today I got a message about "Richard Stephenson" at Foliomag.com who posted about iPads putting
Kindle owners to shame. While, I'm sure the iPad is 'cool', I am quite confident that
Kindle owners don't give two flyin'-flippity-doo-das about the iPad.
And from one Richard Stephenson to the next...
Keep up the good SEO buddy, but next time... come on... really?
Oh and just so I don't think I am completely crazy: why don't you leave a video response
or a comment or something on what's your favorite eBook reader and whether or not you really
think the 'other' Richard Stephenson has any validity to what he's saying.
Maybe we can get some type of Richard Stephenson war going on.
Man....
Have a good one - bye!
