Hi! I’m Tiffany from Close To My Heart.
Today I'm going to show you how to personalize
a gift—down to the very bag itself. Our new
My Creations™ muslin drawstring bags, featured
in the Spring/Summer 2013 Idea Book, can be
stamped with the coordinating My Acrylix®
For a Friend stamp set and it makes a handmade
thank-you gift that's straight from the heart.
These bags come in a set of three. They come in
Colonial White and they’re $3.95 and a fantastic
tip before you start stamping is to include a piece
of cardstock right inside the bag. That will
prevent any type of ink transfer onto the back.
These muslin bags take ink very well and I recommend
using pigment ink. If you haven’t used
pigment ink before, it’s thicker than water-based inks.
Let me show you how to ink up your stamp.
You’ll first want to take off the cap. So simply place
your ink down on your stamp image.
Give it a little bit of extra pressure right in the
middle to make sure that comes through. Just like so.
And then once your stamp is ready, you’ll want to
stamp on the lower portion of the bag, just like so.
Put it right about there. And then
once you’re ready to cinch your bag closed, you’ll
still be able to see your stamped image very clearly.
Now you’ll want to set it aside to dry, but if you need
a quicker result you can also use your Craft Heater to heat
set it. Now if you look at this bag here, let’s take
a look at this one, you’ll notice that I have colored in
my stamped image using one of our alcohol markers
and I used the fine tip. And this is very easy to do.
You simply start in the center of your stamped image
and you work your way out. You’ll want to leave maybe
around about 1/8” of fabric that is uncolored though,
as the color will continue to bleed to the outside.
Then you can use Liquid Glass to secure any type of
accessory like Sparkles or ribbon and really just
give it that extra pop. Then add in some light colored
candy and your gift is ready to go. Stamping on
these muslin bags really is so easy and it adds that
personal touch that’s a great way to say thanks.
