Michael: When can I see Abby?
Dante: She's bein' processed.
Michael: Well, can't you pull rank, get her released?
Dante: No, it doesn't work that way, Michael. Solicitation is a serious offense. If Abby
has priors--
Michael: She's not a ***. She's a dancer.
Dante: At a strip club.
Michael: Well, does that make her a bad person? You think Abby likes takin' her clothes off
for money? She only works at Vaughn's to pay her college tuition. She's gonna be a paralegal.
That's what she--
Dante: Okay, and you're a senior in high school.
Michael: If you're gonna tell me I should date girls my own age, save yourself the speech.
Dante: No. No. No. I get that you like this girl, but how well do you know her?
Michael: She's a nice girl. She would never take money for sex. I know that.
Dante: How did you two even meet? Vaughn's is 21 and up.
Michael: Sam introduced us. They're friends.
Dante: Okay. Forget about the age difference for a second. Why would Sam set you up with
a stripper?
Michael: Because unlike you and Ronnie, Sam looks past what she does to pay her bills.
Dante: I'm lookin' out for you, Michael. I don't wanna see you get hurt again. Okay?
Michael: Look, Abby knows all about me being in prison. She's easy to talk to. I can trust
her not to judge me. She's done a lot to help me out, so I wanna return the favor. Please.
Dante: All right. I'll see what I can do.
Abby: How's Michael?
Dante: Look. I don't want to see my brother get hurt.
Abby: Neither do I.
Dante: Okay, good. So why don't you be straight with me and just tell me have you been lying
to Michael?
Carly: I'm not gonna discuss my son with you, and you better not either.
Brenda: Okay. Well, I just, you know, wanna help if there's anything I can do. I mean,
I'm gonna be his stepmother, so--
Carly: Marrying Sonny doesn't make you anything to Michael.
Brenda: Look, I just wanna be part of his life. I understand if you don't like that,
but I'm not going anywhere, so--
Carly: And you haven't made it down the aisle yet.
Brenda: I don't suppose you wanna be girlfriendy and look at the rings that Sonny gave me.
Carly: Okay, look, if Sonny wants to marry you and let you trash his life again, that's
fine, but my son's been through hell. You better tell her to stay out of it.
Brenda: Can I do anything to help? What's going on with him?
Abby: I can't speak for the other girls at the club, but I have never taken money
for sex.
Dante: Then why did Vice bring you in?
Abby: I don't know. You're gonna have to ask them.
Dante: Michael tells me you're a student.
Abby: Yeah, at city college. I work at the club at night to pay for my classes.
Dante: Well, that's gotta be tough using tips to pay your tuition.
Abby: I manage.
Dante: I mean, I'm sure it would be nice to have someone help pay the bills.
Abby: You think I'm using Michael for his money.
Dante: Look, I don't know. You're an attractive girl. You can have any guy you want.
Why hang out with a teenager?
Abby: Michael is not like other kids his age.
Dante: But he is a kid. He's gone through hell, gone through worse stuff than most people.
Abby: That those other trust-fund babies at his private school will never know a thing
about. Michael can't talk to them. He can't talk to anybody.
Dante: But he can talk to you?
Abby: If all I was interested in was money, I would have named my price when Carly tried
to pay me off. I care about Michael. I'd never hurt him.
Dante: All right. You can go in.
Michael: Thank you.
Dante: Hey, you got any proof that this girl's been takin' money for sex?
Ronnie: We got an anonymous tip. Some guy who claimed to be a customer.
Lucky: Siobhan didn't run out because of you. She's just been under a lot of stress lately
with all the threats from the Balkan and watching Jerry Jacks get shot right in front of her.
Lulu: Have you found out if the body was his?
Lucky: It wasn't. He's still listed as missing. But, I mean, Siobhan saw him get shot in the
chest, so it's doubtful that he's still alive.
Lulu: And if it turns out he was the Balkan, then the danger's over.
Lucky: Yeah. I hope so. I mean, if would be nice if Brenda and Siobhan didn't have to
keep lookin' over their shoulders, you know.
Lulu: So if the threat's gone, then Siobhan goes back to Ireland?
Lucky: Not necessarily.
Lulu: Oh. 'Cause I think she can only stay in the States if she has a visa or green card
or unless she marries a U.S. citizen.
Siobhan: I'm here. What do you want?
The Balkan: I want to remind you of what you stand to lose if you ever hang up on me again.
Check under the bench. I left a gift for you.
Siobhan: You ***.
The Balkan: Watch the name-calling. Somebody could get hurt.
Siobhan: If you touch one hair, I'll kill you myself. Do you hear me? I'll kill you!
Maya: This whole marriage is a fluke, a drunken night in Vegas that Ethan and I were ready
to laugh off with a quickie annulment.
Johnny: After enjoying the perks of marriage first, of course, right?
Maya: Okay. I'm not gonna lie. I have fun with Ethan, mainly because he lives in the
moment, which is about as long as I thought this marriage was gonna last until Edward
approached us with his insane offer.
Johnny: Well, some might call it good business, Maya. Edward is gonna need somebody to take
over at ELQ, right? This way, Edward gets a year to groom Ethan. All of a sudden, a
million dollars seems like a small investment.
Maya: Edward may be willing to invest in Ethan, but I can't afford to.
[Cell phone rings]
Johnny: Yeah. I'll be right there.
I gotta go take care of somethin', but feel free to stay.
And, hey, who knows? Maybe Ethan will face his wife like a man. It's about time
you two had an honest conversation, huh?
Maya: Do you have any idea how worried I was? Holy crap. My god. I was about to hit you,
but it looks like somebody already beat me to it.
Maya: What is the point in being married to a doctor
if you are not gonna let me help you?
Ethan: Last time I checked, you were still a few years shy of opening your own practice.
Maya: Okay, I don't need to pass the boards in order to check a cut. Now, who did this
to you?
Ethan: If you're thinking I got beat up and lost a fight, then you're wrong. I just locked
myself out of my apartment.
Maya: Do not hand me that sad story about how you were climbing down your air shaft
again. You got beat up.
Ethan: No. You know those action movies where the hero jumps off the building and grabs
the fire escape? Yeah. It looks easy, right? Not so much.
Maya: So you were jumping off your building?
Ethan: No, of course not. Just one of those big rubbish bins, you know? Trying to grab
the ladder, I missed, obviously, and ate asphalt.
Maya: And fell on a few fists on the way down.
Ethan: No. They were rocks.
Maya: You're not fooling anyone.
Ethan: Neither are you. You know, you're trying so hard to pretend like you don't care
But I heard what you said about Vegas.
Maya: Okay, you might not wanna bring up that whole eavesdropping thing right now.
I am in a position to inflict a lot of pain.
Ethan: What happened in Vegas is something you never would have done.
Maya: You mean if I was sober?
Ethan: No. You had no inhibitions. That's what made it so great. You know, you weren't
overanalyzing or worried about who would get hurt. We were just there together, and I just
wanna get back to that. You did say it was the most fun you'd ever had.
Maya: Well, I don't think you are in the condition to have fun at the moment.
Ethan: Well, I would if I was in the right hands, say, a doctor's, you know. [Winces]
We could work on that bedside manner, hmm?
Patrick: So where's Terrell?
Robin: Down in Peds checking on a patient. He should be back soon.
Patrick: Was the shadow thing his idea or yours?
Robin: Mine. Why?
Patrick: I don't know. Just seems weird that he jumped in and helped all the patients from
the bus crash, wasn't even on staff yet. Now that he has got hired, he needs help and showin'
around the hospital.
Robin: Okay, don't take it out on Terrell just because you got into it with Lisa. What
were you guys really fighting about?
Patrick: We didn't fight about anything.
Robin: It sure looked like it.
Patrick: Well, then, I need to work on my poker face, don't I?
Robin: Well, anything short of slapping her in the face in front of the staff is the picture
of restraint.
Patrick: You slapped her for a reason.
Robin: Maybe, but I wish I hadn't done that. All I did was give her the reaction that she
wanted and let her know that her games were getting to me.
Patrick: Well, you've done a really good job keeping professional since, not letting her
get to you or at least not showing it.
Lisa: Asking to shadow Robin was a nice touch. The thought of you two spending so much time
together is already rubbing Patrick the wrong way.
Terrell: I didn't have to ask. Robin offered.
Lisa: See, I knew that charm of yours wouldn't be wasted on her.
Terrell: You know, you got Robin pegged all wrong. She's a sweet girl, smart, good with
her patients. Kind of cute, too.
Lisa: You know, this whole seduction thing isn't gonna work if you actually fall for
her.
Terrell: Never happening.
Lisa: I'd hope not.
Robin: How's your patient?
Terrell: Sad case. 7-year-old with Graves' disease. You know, after we finish rounds,
maybe you can take a look at his chart, give me your thoughts on any thyroid drug therapy
and R.A.I. That is, if you have time. I know I been takin' up a lot of it lately.
Robin: Oh, don't feel bad about it. I'm happy to do it.
Lulu: Lucky, your undercover job in Ireland was your chance to get away and to clear your
head about all this Elizabeth stuff.
Lucky: It was my chance to work with Interpol, Lulu. It had nothing to do with my personal
life.
Lulu: Well, I think the lines of your personal life and your professional life are starting
to get blurred.
Lucky: Okay. So what? Look, from the beginning, there were huge gaps in my cover. I needed
to fill 'em with something, so I drew from experiences in my own life, and I told Siobhan
things that, you know, I haven't shared with anyone, not even Elizabeth. What's the big
deal?
Lulu: Well, you were vulnerable then, and you're vulnerable now, and considering marrying
someone to help them get their green card is a very big mistake.
Lucky: Whoa. We're not considering anything, okay? Look, Siobhan, she went to Diane's office
and spoke to a lawyer about extending her work visa. He's the one who brought up a green card
marriage. She shot it down right away.
Lulu: Well, good. I mean, it's not I don't want you to be happy. That's not...
Lucky: You just don't think that I would be happy with Siobhan. Is that what you're saying?
Lulu: I think getting this serious about anyone is a bad idea.
Lucky: Why are you doing this?
Lulu: Lucky, healing from having your heart broken takes time. Caring too much too fast
about anyone is a huge mistake.
