How To Undo An Email In Gmail
If you want to undo an email
that you've sent you can do so
for up to 30 seconds, but you first have to activate it. So click on the top right gearbox,
and click on Settings.
Once you're in Settings,
click on Labs,
and here scroll all the way down
until you see "Undo Send."
Click 'Enable.'
Then scroll down,
click Save Changes.
Let it load.
Now you have to customize the setting of "Undo Send."
Go back to Settings,
by clicking on the top right gearbox, then Settings.
In the General tab, scroll down
until you find "Undo Send."
As you see here we have it enabled,
and cancellation period, and in "Send cancelation period,"
the default is 10 seconds, you can change it to 5, 20, or 30 seconds,
so we're going to change it to the maximum 30 seconds.
Go all the way down and click Save.
Now what that means, is that
you can send an email
and within 30 seconds if you
see that it wasn't
the right one
you have the option of unsending the email.
We'll do a quick test.
Press Send.
Now you see up here: "Your message has been sent."
You can either view it, or if you know right away you made a mistake, click Undo.
"Sending has been undone."
Back to the original email, where you can now edit it
or change whatever you need, and then you can send the correct email.
That's it, that's how to undo an email in Gmail.
