ATHEISM - FADIL SULIMAN - ISLAMOHPHOBIA
One of the best books I've read is the book "There Is a God" by Antony Flew, who was a philosophy professor at Oxford university.
Flew was one of the most prominent atheists in the world, through his research in philosophy and atheism he converted tens or hundreds of thousands to atheism.
He pulled a prank on all of them in 2004 when he wrote the book "There Is a God" he published that he now believes in the existence of God
You may wonder if there are people who don't believe in God? Unfortunately, there's a lot of people who don't believe in the presence of God or any Creator. Then how did we get here? They say we came by coincidence
The word 'coincidence' is quite amusing. Because not only are we not here by coincidence, but there isn't a single thing in this world that occurs by coincidence
Everything is by God's predestination, God almighty says "Indeed, all things We created with predestination" Qur'an-54:49. Everything is by God's will.
For those who say the world was made by coincidence, why hasn't it happened once that a mango seed grew a fig tree by coincidence, or a grape tree producing marrow or melon by coincidence, proving that nothing in this world is coincidental.
I'd like to respond to those who claim that there is no creator using the words of a great French philosopher, who was also an engineer, called Rene' Descartes.
He said "I doubt God's existence, I doubt therefore I think, I think therefore I am. I exist therefore I was created, I didn't create myself therefore something else created me" That something is Allah, the Creator. So doubt led him to faith.
His way of thinking actually is summed up in a beautiful short verse of the holy Qur'an. When Jobeyr ibn Motam was entering Al Madinah as a captive in the battle of Badr he heard the prophet PBUH praying Maghrib prayers and saying the following verse:
"Or were they created by nothing, or were they their own creators?" Qur'an-52:35. He said that when he heard this verse "My heart almost flew"
He said 'I was going to fly' because that great theory that Descartes explained was explained in this concise verse.
Many biologists and physicists who are atheists find that it is the mathematicians who often object to their beliefs, because math deals with unchangeable facts. 1+1=2 till infinity this is a constant
They deal with what is called the theory of probabilities, What is the probability that there is no creator?
Let's look at something simpler than this. If we get 12 billiard balls numbered from 1 to 12 and place them in a bag, closed our eyes, and shook the bag. What are the odds of picking out the number 1 ball?
The probability is 1/12. If I place the ball back in the bag, shake the bag and pick out another ball. Again, the odds of picking out the number 2 ball is 1/12
So what are the odds of picking ball number 1 followed by ball 2? The probability is 1/144 so I may have to pick 144 balls to achieve this sequence
You know what are the chances that I pick out all 12 balls in their correct order, from 1 to 12? I may have to try it 379 million times for this to happen once
If picking out 12 balls from a bag in correct order is almost impossible, so what are the odds that this universe with all it's greatness, enormousness, diversity, coordination and harmony, is here without a creator, only by coincidence.
The chances are effectively zero. It's practically impossible. Therefore, mathematicians are the most common people to argue with athiests. Consequently nothing in this world is coincidental and we were created by God.
Everything has its source. A man came to me once and told me "I don't believe in God." I asked him what his job was. He said "I am a financial analyst". I said "would you accept a single dollar in your company's balance sheet that came out of nowhere, without a source?"
He said no. "So how come you want this entire universe to have no source when you can't accept a single dollar with no source?"
One of the best stories you can read about this topic is the story of Hayy Ibn Yaqzan, commonly ascribed to Ibn Tufail
Hayy Ibn Yaqzan is about a one day old baby who was left alone on an island with no humans. He never had any contact with a human and was never taught anything.
He was taken by a Doe who raised him with her children and breastfed him, so he lived and grew with the animals.
He learned the language of the birds and the animals. Then his mother (the doe) died and he was shocked. Why isn't she answering him? She would turn right and left as he move her
He brought a sharp piece of rock, sliced open her chest and pulled her heart out, he looked at it and couldn't find anything wrong with it. He couldn't comprehend why she died. Why isn't she moving anymore?
The first thing he realized was the presence of the soul, that there is a soul and that what he sees of humans or animals is merely a machine
And this machine is operated by something very important, which is the soul. So the first thing he realized was the presence of the soul.
The second thing he realized when he started noticing the birds and animals around him, he found one thing in common. They all have bodies. So he found that anything with a body has a beginning and an ending
He then realized that everything came from a source, so there must be a source for everything that has no beginning or end
With this story the writer was able to prove that the mind can discover God almighty as well as his most basic characteristics like perfection, that He is the First and the Last and so on
Hayy Ibn Yaqdhan represents the mind on Earth. The name "Hayy Ibn Yaqdhan" literaly translates to "Alive son of Awake"
He represents the mind on Planet Earth and that the mind alone can reach the existence of God and the his main characteristics like perfection, wisdom, that he is the first and the last, the manifest, the hidden, and that he is all knowing
Another common misconception is "If I believe in God, how can you proove that there is a judgement day, that there is punishment or reward?"
The answer to this is always quite reasonable to anyone who believes in God. Any person regardless his religion Muslim, Christian, or Jewish can be asked one question "Is your god perfect?"
The normal reply would be "Yes, he is characterized with perfection." If he is perfect then he is just, do you consider it justice that there are those who have committed awful crimes, killed millions of people and have not been punished?
They are not being punished and they will not be punished? Is it just that there are good, patient people in this world who do everything right and will die without being rewarded?
and are not being rewarded nor will they ever be rewarded? Of course this is not justice. So if God Almighty is described with perfection then he is just, so there must be a judgement day.
For those who have committed crimes and murders to be brought back for punishment, and for other who were kind and patient to be rewarded
So it is obvious that there is a judgment day for those who believe in God, but someone who doesn't even believe in God, I don't have to convince him with judgement.
The following question is usually "Why did God create us?" God Almighty says in the Qur'an "Indeed, I will make upon the Earth a successive authority."
So God made us his successors on Earth to uphold justice, support what is right, and to worship God. "And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me" -Qur'an 51:56
I am here for a reason on this Earth, from the tasks of a successor is to worship God, invite others to worship God, spread God's word, and to develop the Earth.
"He has produced you from the earth and settled you in it"-Qur'an 11:61. So God created us on this earth to develop it, to worship him, to help people worship him with their own choice, to establish justice and protect it.. we'll continue insh'Allah
