Hello and welcome to the first video in this series.
Let me explain what this channel is all about.
Let me explain what this channel is all about.
My biggest passion is cars and everything that surrounds it, especially historic cars.
I am also a very big fan of shows like the ‘Is Born’ series from Mark Evans
or the restoration videos like Gunnar Racing did on one of their Porsche 917 restorations.
Well, I have just started restoring a 1967 Lotus Europa,
and this series is my way of giving back to the community.
and this series is my way of giving back to the community.
I really enjoy these type of restoration videos,
and I’m hoping some people will get the same enjoyment from these videos as I did from those shows.
I will be showing you my entire restoration process and will be giving some tips and tricks on how to tackle some jobs.
You might even see some mistakes and maybe you can learn something from them so that you don’t have to make the same.
First I will give some information about the car and I will explain what I have been doing so far.
My Europa is chassis number 460002, this is the oldest production Europa believed to survive.
It was delivered to West Side Cars in Amsterdam in February 1967
as a car the dealership would use to promote the new Europa model.
It has had several owners since then and was taken off the road in 1992.
I found it in October of 2011 hidden away in a barn in the northern part of Holland.
Since then the Europa has been completely disassembled.
Thus the depressing part of restoring a car where you only take something apart is behind us,
we can finally start taking all the bits and pieces and restoring them to look like new.
You can see the complete rebuild from the ground up, right on this channel.
This was the introduction, next time I will show you all the jobs that I’m working on to restore the Europa to its former glory.
I hope you enjoyed this video,
you can follow me on my blog where there are a lot of articles about the disassembly process from the past 10 months
and please subscribe to my Youtube channel, so you won’t miss any of my videos.
See you soon!
