Hi I am Koichi Yabori the guitar player.
Q: What is your impression of Allen?
I think it is very unfortunate,
that he is still not famous in Japan.
His 2 albums are truly high quality.
The first album is especially great.
Nowadays, you can't even find
album with such high quality.
It shows the magic of Allen as a sound creator.
Of course he is a great guitar player.
To see the ability to create something so great,
it's just amazing.
As a LA musician,
he also has that Country or Blues vibe.
Itユs solid and has strong roots.
And at the same time, very clever.
I think it is a rare quality.
I would say he is the true meaning of
contemporary guitar player.
His has amazing control of his guitar.
From clean to distorted sound,
it's not the stereo-type sound.
Not like This is Clean This is distorted
From Clean to Distorted, it's all linear.
I am sure PCI's pedals have a lot to do with this.
I would love to try PCI's pedals now.
Lot of my students are using PCI pedals too.
They are very well-received.
It's not exactly a well-thought out sound.
More like a well-trained sound.
His tone is that of the Gaijin. It's American.
It's LA musician like.
Very convincing and solid.
You can learn a lot just by being in same room.
Makes you want to apologize and work harder.
On stage, he creates unexpected situations.
He would actively break it.
Japanese team focused on recreating his album.
To show how great his songs are.
But as soon as we are on stage,
Allen wanted to destroy it.
He wanted to create incidents and see what we do.
There is no script. We were just conversing.
And to do that with a band with Guitar as a leader,
Its not an easy thing to do.
Q: Message for our audience?
You should see us live.
And when you do, don't be so timid.
You should join us and break the gig.
It definitely changes our playing too.
It may give us the fire to blast through,
Or it may surprise us and make us stop.
But that's all okay.
Everyone should take part in the gig.
It's definitely more fun.
Especially if you are musician,
don't treat it like a video games.
I often see how its treated like the games.
You play the tricks and you clear that stage.
Then you play the next phrase for next.
They are not interested in the live shows.
They should come see us,
and feel as if they are playing with us.
I want them to go see more live shows.
It would help impove their playing too.
Am I being too harsh?
But these young musicians are our future.
I want them show everyone that it's not just LA,
that Japanese musicians can be great too.
To become so good. Even better than LA.
