Welcome to part 5 from the IAA in Frankfurt.
This is the Mercedes A-Class.
This is a concept.
We know the A-Class as a boring car, but Mercedes wants to fix that.
There will be some very hot editions, like an AMG.
It's estimated to have 350 hp. That's very interesting.
That's not all they have to show of course, we're also going to look at the B-Class.
That's a more ordinary car for more ordinary people.
This is pretty big news for Mercedes; the new B-Class.
What can we say about that?
Well, it's new. It also looks better.
But it's still like a people mover and that doesn't make us happy.
There are new engines available, a double-clutch gearbox.
It's just not very interesting, but nevermind.
Over there is something that is interesting.
The F125!
It's like a future S-Class.
It's very futuristic with its big gullwing doors.
It's cool.
A nice party piece from Mercedes, the SLS Roadster.
It's just very cool.
This is one of the highlights of the show.
Especially because of the way it looks. It's the Jaguar CX16.
The name is still a bit complicated, but that's because it's a concept.
Jaguar calls it a 'production concept'.
So this car will be made and it will look like this.
Should we see this car as the successor to the XK?
No, says Jaguar. This car is much more sporty.
Interesting news under the hood. It's got a supercharged V6.
They managed to get 380 hp from it.
It's also nice that it's got a KERS system, so it's a hybrid.
The electric engine has 95 hp and it gives you a power boost...
...like we know from Formula 1.
So it's very quick. 0-62 in 4,4 seconds.
I'm already looking forward to driving it.
I'll do some product placement for our nice iPhone cover.
It's very exclusive, you can't buy it yet.
But if you all respond, I'll arrange something.
We're at Mazda, they don't have many premieres on their stand.
The one they do have is this CX-5.
It's quite a nice car.
It just looks good.
It's a midi-SUV, it's not too big.
They're competing with manufacturers like Volkswagen and Opel.
There's a choice of 2 engines. 3 actually, there are 2 versions of the diesel.
One with 150 hp and one with 175 hp.
Mazda had managed to make it so clean...
...that it'll pass Euro 6 standards without the need of AdBlue.
That's an additive to get the diesel a bit cleaner.
Its CO2 emissions should be below 139 grams.
There will also be a regular naturally-aspirated 2-liter petrol engine.
It has 164 hp and should also be economical.
Apparently there's a demand for very small electric cars.
Opel's got one, Audi's even got two.
And Volkswagen's got the Nils.
It's a one-seater.
It's not very powerful and it's got a range of just 40 miles.
Its wheels look like bike wheels.
I don't really get this car.
Will we all be driving these, or is it just to show that VW cares about the environment?
Another nice thing from the VW stand; the Beetle R. It's still a concept.
That's not necessary because the Scirocco R and the Golf R are all technically the same.
The 2-liter turbo's got 165 hp in the Scirocco and 170 hp in the Golf.
The Scirocco has front-wheel drive and the Golf has 4-wheel drive.
They don't say anything about the Beetle just yet.
It's got 911 Turbo hips, they're 30 mm wider.
That's 1.2 inch.
It looks sporty. I thought the previous Beetle was a bit pathetic...
...this one is much better. And with its sporty looks it's quite nice.
Great tip from the camera man; look underneath to see if there's a differential.
Then we'll know if it's front- or 4-wheel drive.
I don't see a diff, so probably it's only front-wheel drive.
This is f*cking great.
This is a Russian brand: ë-auto. You pronounce it as yo-auto.
This one's got very weird doors; first the window slides down and then the whole door slides out.
It's probably not that safe.
Besides that it looks quite alright.
And for those who don't know ë-auto; it's a Russian brand that will focus on hybrids.
Not just petrol hybrids, but also natural gas hybrids for example.
It should be very flexible.
This looks OK, but if we look on the other side...
That's not good. I wouldn't want one.
It's really ugly as hell. I'm surprised they have the guts to show it.
They did make a folder. This is what it looks like on the road.
That's nice, isn't it?
You can also get it with climate control. They mention that especially.
The Russian car buyer needs to be educated on what luxuries you can have in a car.
Opel has three big premieres.
They have different EcoFlex models which are very economical. But this is better.
It's an Astra, but this is the GTC version. It's a 3-door.
It just looks a bit cooler.
It's got a nice ***, that's the only way to put it.
It's also got 20-inch *** wheels.
Of course there will also be an OPC edition at one point.
Maybe it'll have a nice 2-liter turbo with 240 or 250 hp.
But for now we'll have to make do with 1.4 and 1.6 turbos and some diesels.
I do think it's a very nice car.
Think about the Kadett 3-door, that wasn't very sexy. This is.
Not very sexy, but it is a bestseller for Opel.
It's the new Zafira Tourer.
It does look better than before I have to say.
Look at the headlight that flows over into the fog light.
I think that's quite cool for such a boring car.
Didn't I tell you about those crazy 1- or 2-seater concepts?
Audi's got one and I forgot the other brand already, too bad.
This is Opel's version: the One Euro Car.
The idea is that you can drive 100 km with 1 euro's worth of electricity.
It's great.
But you can only drive it alone, that's not that nice.
Its top speed is 75 mph.
But there will also be a 30 mph version so you can drive it with your scooter license.
God knows why, but apparently there's a market for it.
There's very cool concept here, the Sense.
It's like a D-segment saloon, but it looks stunning.
This is the all-new Lexus GS.
You can get the 350 with a V6 petrol.
And of course it's also available as a hybrid. The 450h.
This is the facelifted Renault Twingo.
I think it looks better.
And if you don't like purple there's another color. I don't know how to describe it.
A kind of gold-green-yellow. I don't know. If this comes out of your body, you're very ill.
It's the Frendzy.
On every show, Renault has another concept designed by dutchman Laurens van den Acker.
He's got a whole range. It's about birth, youth...
...human life, family, work...
That's the beginning... ...combination.
...and that's the end. Space to work.
Not for those on the inside... Autoblog videos, also cool.
...but for those on the outside.
This is one of those concepts that's never put into production...
...it's just a piece of design.
Maybe we'll ever see one component back on a production car.
