Albert Graves: Today we're here at Canada Blooms where you know it's a
fantastic place to just show flowers and excitement. The stuff that we normally
do in the classroom, I know bring it here on stage.
It's all about energy. What I have figured out is to kind of combine music
with flowers and then specialty giveaway. It just seems to be working
that people just go wild over it.
Albert Graves: The program at Humber is one evening a week.
It's continuing education so it's on a Tuesday night or on a Thursday night.
In the beginning it's kind of tricky but later on in the program
they really catch on and then definitely by the third semester
it's like wow, it's fantastic.
But I leave a lot of freedom and creativity to students.
Janet: I'm originally trained as a landscape designer so I am employed
during the summer, during good weather and I thought what can I do
in the winter to sort of fill my year and I thought maybe floral design would
be the answer. The program was all hands-on, which is incredible so you
so you start right from the first day handling plant materials, floral materials.
It's a really excellent course.
