So once both pieces have set up to leather hard, which means that when you press it you're
not going to smear the clay, but it's still soft enough that you can easily make an indention
with your fingernail - kind of like hard cheese, you are going to set the lid into the rim.
Make sure it fits, and once you've got it on the sugar jar, you will cut the lid off
of the bat with a wire tool. Which, I've already actually done this, I've already actually
cut it off, so it's kind of sliding. But, I just want to demonstrate that's what you
would need to do. So once it's cut off, you'll take your bat away, and your lid is resting
inside the sugar pot. This makes it really easy to center for turning and throwing. So,
you will set your bat right directly on the wheel head. Give it a little spin, make sure
it's on center. If it's a little off, it may be that you need to turn your bat kins 180
Degrees. In this case, it's just right, so we're ready to start trimming the lid and
then we will throw the *** right directly on after we trim.
