Today, I'll show you how to make beautiful decoupaged eggs. Eggs are a common symbol
of life in most cultures. They're fun to decorate and beautiful to display in your home. I'll
show you how to make these beautiful Victorian style decoupaged eggs. I'll show you how to
make this cute gift egg out of a plastic hosiery container. And I will be showing you how to
make this traditional Swiss styled paper cut decoupaged egg. There's a lot of different
things that you can do with the eggs and they're all beautiful and they add a beautiful accent
to your home. Here is an assortment of materials that you can use to decoupage your eggs. First
we'll need some eggs of course. And I am using regular hen's eggs that you get in the grocery
store. I'll also show you how to decorate a plastic egg. This one comes with stockings
in it. You'll need regular white glue, just a PVA glue, some kind of a regular glue. You
may want to varnish your eggs. In that case, you can get an acrylic varnish or you can
use nail polish. A clear nail polish or even some of these iridescent or glitter nail polishes
will give different looks. For, for the base, the decoupage base, you can use scrap book
pages in sort of a Victorian motif. You can use wrapping papers. You want to choose wrapping
papers that are not plastic coated. So you want paper wrapping papers. You can also decoupage
with napkins and there's a tremendous assortment of napkins that can be used. Now you can also
use cut outs, paper cut outs, of different things. I have some cats and birds and flowers.
We'll be doing a, I'll show you how to make a traditional Swiss designed egg. And you
will need thin black paper. You'll probably need a paper clip. And some pinking shears
for that project. And some other useful things are, I have some tea here for tea staining
the eggs. A paint brush. Some small scissors for doing some intricate cutting. A craft
knife also for helping with intricate cutting. Another thing we'll be using is a piece of
cardboard and pins. And I'll show you how to make a little stand for working with your
eggs. You'll need some sand paper if you want to decorate the plastic eggs. And some pretty
ribbons are also nice to decorate our eggs.
