Why should your personal injury attorney have a medical illustration in your injury case?
Hi. I’m Richard Aufenger. I’m an attorney with Kalfus and Nachman in Virginia. I do
personal injury practice. This is an example that was used in a trial, in an actual case
where there was a medical illustration done by a professional and the doctor who testified
was able to use this illustration to explain what procedure he performed. And in this case,
you have a fractured femur. And you can see it’s fairly graphic. It actually describes
very specifically the procedure he performed. And you can actually see down in this corner
here an actual x-ray showing the hardware that was placed into this person’s leg.
So this type of illustration can be very helpful in convincing a jury and explaining to a jury
exactly the injury and the surgery procedure that was done in a case. Illustrations like
this typically cost between $750 dollars to $1,000 dollars. What I’d suggest is discuss
whether an illustration like this should be used in a case that you have. Why am I telling
you this? It’s important because an illustration – like the one I just showed you – can
make a world of difference in your actual recovery in a personal injury case. My name
is Richard Aufenger. I’m an attorney with the law firm of Kalfus and Nachman in Virginia.
