This is the first video of a serie of
10 tutorials on how to
create build ups in Traktor Pro
Each video contains a different form of
creating build ups.
Let's start talking about the Ramp Delay.
First let's look at how it works .
Up here we have the Dry / Wet and On.
The first *** is a filter effect,
to the right side it leaves only the high frequencies
and to the right side only low.
The second *** is the Duration, it will
determine how long the ramp of the delay
will be. It ranges between 1 and 64 beats.
The third *** is Rate, which will control
the speed of the delay.
Below we have reset and the freeze .
If you still do not know how the freeze function works,
Watch our tutorial
' Echo Freeze no Traktor '
we explained solely on this function.
The third button is the FB +
it give 90% of feedback to the effect.
There are several ways to use the ramp delay
on the tracks . We will give an example
on the main break of this track.
We will start to use it gradually until
create a big build up.
Come on , I'll jump here to use this effect.
To start I want to put the filter
at maximum to the right
the duration let in 8 bar,
which is equal to 32 beats, which is a piece,
and the rate I'm going to put in 1/4.
I will hit play to start using the effect .
I think this gave you a sense of the pontecial
to create build ups using this effect.
Let's do a little review of what happened here.
We have started with the Dry / Wet 50%,
the filter was at least,
the duration was at 8 bar,
and the rate 1/4.
The freeze and FB + off.
On the first beat of the break we turned on the effect
and began to remove the filter.
When the filter was 100% wasn't
nothing of the delay in the sound and
we were taking gradually the delay removing the filter.
we were taking gradually the delay removing the filter.
Then in the second part we hit the FB +
and there began to create chaos in the music.
We continued removing the filter and before
the first beat of the third piece of the break
the filter was already in the flat position.
And then we hit the freeze.
Then we turn on the freeze we increased
the maximum rate to create the main climb of the ramp delay.
When it was getting late the last piece of the break
we moved also the duration.
Creating a rise even faster.
Finally we turned off the effect with Dry / Wet at least.
If we had turned off the Dry / Wet at
a position that was not zero.
the feedback would still be in the air with
the original sound of the music.
Therefore we prefer to leave at zero.
But you can do it the way you prefer.
This is how we use the ramp delay to create build ups.
You can use other ways as well.
We hope we have helped, until next time.
