Desire2Learn for Students provides course management system training for students at
Lansing Community College. Divided into two modes of training, on-campus facilitated training
and self-paced online training, each training course takes users through the basics of using
Desire2Learn for their online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses.
At the Start or each semester, the eLearning Department offers face-to-face training opportunities
at the Main and West Campuses. These sessions offer hands-on training and practice with
Desire2Learn and are facilitated by eLearning staff. Registration is required for these
90-minute sessions and seating is limited. Students can go to www.lcc.edu/elearning to
register for an available session.
Students may also choose to take the online option of Desire2Learn for Students. The online
version of the training is self-paced and is offered inside of Desire2Learn and features
guided video training for each part of Desire2Learn, and practice opportunities for students to
participate in discussions, submit papers, and take a quiz. This training is available
year round in Desire2Learn and can be found in the My Courses widget under the Training
Tab.
