Oh my god. I hate YouTube.
Alright. So right onto the subject
YouTube is basically changing their monetization system
and this will be affecting multi-channel networks or MCN's
like RPM, Polaris and many other networks.
And what Google AKA YouTube is doing in January of 2014
is forcing these multi channel networks to put their partners
into 2 different categories which are
affiliates and managed partners. Now let's talk but managed partners
first, these are the lucky YouTubers whose channels won't be changed at all
and basically won't be affected. but the cut to
that is only a little amount of people will be managers
which is supposedly around 5% of YouTubers in their network.
Now on to affiliates, which is the bad
category and what is what 95% of you guys will become
or partners will become and what happens is if you're an affiliate is you would lose
the options have your video instantly monetized like before,
and the only way to get your video monetized
is if you submit your video to be reviewed by YouTube or Google
which means you will have to wait some time before you video gets accepted OR
rejected. I might also add you will have to go through the same process
as if you weren't even partnered at all. I myself am very disappointed with
this news.
I get it YouTube. You're doing this so that
some random company doesn't sue you. I mean that's a good thing. but
what I'm actually disappointed about is how networks won't allow you to leave.
I'm sure many partners won't really like this change but
you know what. we'll just see how it affects people when this change
actually takes into effect. But other than that
that's all there is to it. I'll put articles in the description where you can read more.
Anyways I'll see guys later.
