Would you like another Facebook app?
Facebook Camera is now in the Apple app store.
Facebook unveiled it — where else — on Facebook.
Complete with the ability to swipe to see albums — and tap to see enlarged photos.
And that’s not all. Facebook chimes in from its newsroom.
“Now you can quickly share multiple photos all at once instead of having to post one
at a time. Just select the shots you want to share by tapping the check-mark on each
photo and then hit post. You'll have a chance to add a caption, say where you were and tag
friends before you share.”
All of the sudden, something else is coming into focus.
All Things D says, that purchase of Instagram for a cool billion bucks, makes a whole lotta
sense now. It appears Facebook has been going to school.
“Photos in Facebook Camera are full-bleed, spanning the entire width of the iPhone’s
screen … You’re able to comment and ‘Like’ photos directly from the stream. And, of course,
there are filters...”
So, bulk photo uploads — Into Mobile notes, this is going to be a whole lot easier to
share pictures.
“Instead of launching the Facebook app, waiting for it to load, hitting the add photo
button, choosing or taking a photo, having it attach and then sharing, you can now just
share photos with just a few taps. The layout is also much more conducive for seeing all
of your friends’ albums.”
And while it’s less than a day old, at least one early review is positive. Slashgear likes
it.
“To get to your feed of photos, you’ve only to pull the screen up. To get to your
own gallery of images to share, you’ve only to pull down. To get to the actual camera
interface, you have to tap the camera button in the upper left.”
This is the third standalone app in addition to the FB app...they also have Messenger and
Page Manager.
