ANCHOR: Along with the construction of a primary school complex and a vocational training center
for women and girls in Benin, WEMA-HOME has also developed a recycling, solar lamp, and
a school environmental project. The eco-program was created in cooperation with well-known
animal advocate Dame Dr. Jane Goodall. It involves over 30 schools in the nation and
includes the restoration by young children of deforested or damaged land into a place
abundant with wild flora and fauna. Success of this endeavor has led adults to protect
nearby forests. For her dedication and participation in the achievements of this conservation plan,
Ms. Dötzer was honored with a France-based Yves Rocher Foundation 2011 Trophée de Femmes
€10,000 prize. Ms. Dötzer also encourages the young people to adopt the vegan diet as
a vital way to safeguard our planet.
