In this next step, we’re going to sand this spot. When I am doing my office I knew that
I had certain things that I had to do, and the first thing I did was blow insulation
because this is an older house and there’s no insulation in these walls. We filled in
our hold great stuff and then we put dry compound on top and let it dry and now we’re going
to sand it. You use 120 grade of sand paper. The biggest thing when you’re sanding is
that you want to make sure that it’s flat to the wall and your edges are smoothed out
so that there’s not an abrupt movement in your wall so it’s not noticeable. I’m
just going to take this. This is a little high here so I’m going to sand this down
to kind of get that mound out of there and then I’m going to go to the edges and get
it. Use a little elbow grease. Then make sure you really get your edges all around. I’m
just going to rub over it and it’s high right here so I’m going to go here and sand
this making sure I get those edges out. Feel it. It’s pretty good but we still have a
little bit of a lift right here.
That’s pretty good, and right here I’ve put in some Spackle to get rid of the nail
holes. I’m going to sand it out because it’s a bigger hole. There we go. Before we start to paint, our
goal will be to get these walls absolutely clean, so that’s our next step.
