So you've looked at one of the scratches and you've tried to break it down and you've figured
out what each hand is doing at the same time and what its supposed to sound like. So how
do you transfer that to your body? How do you do that? So here I'm going to show you,
I'll take one of the regular scratches, the chirp, the most basic two handed coordinated
scratch and at first, I want you just to break down one hand and then start adding the other
hand. Some very important things to note when practicing. Stay relaxed the whole time. The
second you start tensing up, its not going to be any fun anymore. Second, make sure you
can sing or speak what you're trying to do. So if the scratch is the chirp scratch, make
sure you can say chirp chirp chirpa or ducka ducka ducka ducka. Any syllable that works
for you. Most importantly when scratching, this is going to take a very long time to
learn, any scratch, just with learning any instrumental will take a long time so you're
going to need to practice the individual scratch a real lot.
