RYAN LARSON: So now, we are going to go over our first set of chords as they fall on the
low string, so all our roots are going to be on the E string. And I will show you them
on the fret board first, and then we will show you how they are written out. So if we
start here, B is on the 7th fret. And the 1st chord we show you is your major chord,
and this is the 8th fret, skip these two strings, and then on the top three strings you have:
8, 7, 8, 9, 9. And if you get good at this chord, you can put your 5th in there, too.
And we have our minor chord, which is really easy. You put your middle finger on the 7th
fret, pointer on the 5th and then you use your right finger to bar the 7th fret all
the way up. Again, with the rhythm we are using it in our left hand as we play the root
with our thumb and you clap to get the other strings. This only comes with practice, so
really start practicing. And our last chord is the 7th chord, where you bar this.
