What's going on Nation. I'm going to demonstrate for you how to do a Janda Sit-Up.
It's a really great exercise that is going to help strengthen and isolate your abs
whether you train for a sport
or bodybuilding
What makes this ab exercise unique is that it is going to totally disengage your hip flexors
so the exercise can 100% focus on your abs
and the way this is done
is by tightening your hip extensors (glutes/hamstrings)
throughout the entire exercise.
begin the exercise by laying on the ground in the basic sit-up position
you want to make sure that your knees are at a 90 degree angle and that your feet are flat on the floor
with your arms either crossed over your chest or straight out by your sides
keeping your feet solid on the floor is one of the main principles of this exercise.
exercise
there's two other variations that you can do for this exercise
one variation would be to lay on a surface that is a couple inches up off the
ground
have your feet on the floor still with a 90 degree angle in your knees
and sit-up from there
you can also choose to lay on the floor and have a partner hold your ankles
and you just focus entirely on doing the sit-up
and flexing your hamstrings and glutes
you might not be able to do that many reps right now but overtime you're
definitely going to build some abdominal strength
so that's how you do a Janda Sit-Up
