Hey Dad, I really want to get some of those Oakley sunglasses that you got for your birthday
from mom.
Why? Is there something special about them?
Have you seen how expensive they are?
So how much you pay makes them special?
Well, a lot of the time yeah.
Son, they are just sunglasses. They do the same thing as the sunglasses I got from the
gas station 2 months ago.
No way Dad! These are way more durable, and just having that O on the side makes you look
awesome.
Son, I think you are reading way too much into brand names.
Then why would mom give you them?
Because I broke my others, and she said that these would be more durable and that she heard
they are better.
There you go! Even mom knows!
Son, your mom also thinks you still love The Power Rangers.
Hmmm... good point.
Uh huh.
Really though dad, do you think that I could get some of them?
If you work hard and get the funds then I don't see why not. But, I will tell you that
if you do get that much to purchase some, you probably won't.
That's crazy! Why wouldn't I?
Because you will realize that you worked really hard to get that much money for something
that you could spend $5 on somewhere else.
No way! If I had the money to buy Oakley's I would totally get them.
Well, I have a ton of chores that you can get started on already. Then your aunt called
and asked if you would like to earn some cash doing her lawn.
Great! Can I borrow your glasses?
Are you crazy?! Do you know how expensive these things are?
Seriously Dad?
You still like the Power Rangers. I don't need you doing karate kicks around the lawn
and them falling under the mower.
Dad I'm 16! I don't even like them!
