Hello Youtube, this is Monsieur Bonsaï
I will show you how to make your office a more peaceful place
through very simple compositions. Depending on your personality and place,
start by choosing a pot that pleases you.
This pot, dark and round is quite simple, zen and design
This is actually a carved rock, porous and white.
It will be perfect for a succulent that is not afraid to be dried for example.
This pot, enameled, is ocher-colored with different shades.
The shape is quite interesting because this pot is not machine made.
In the same style but with a different color, this pot makes me think
of a galaxy and will host a plant with a particular color that will highlight.
As desktop plant, choose something that can be content with little light.
To be clear, no plant can be deprived completely of light,
so if there is no window in your office solutions are rare.
I have chosen for this first project, a succulent, the Crassula.
There are hundreds of types that have their own particularity, color, shape, size, etc ...
These are small plants that need little water because they draw in moisture from the air.
We'll take this pot because I have a fairly industrial office
and it will be perfect in the context.
I have a grid in place, so we will immediately prepare the pot with the substrate.
For succulent, very aerated mix is perfect.
So I made a mixture of coarse sand and Akadama.
Everything will be great drainage, but akadama retains
just enough moisture necessary
if the air is too dry in your office.
We begin by filling a little the pot.
Then we take care of the Crassula.
I like these 2.
We'll take this one has a bit more volume.
Carefully, we will remove it and clean the roots.
Without cutting the roots,
we will place the plant in the middle of the pot, alone.
With a chopstick,
we made sure to dip the roots and looking at the height from the pot.
Once placed, we add the substrate, it will allow to finish stabilizing the plant.
We tap the pot gently to tamp
And watered.
The Akadama turns dark when full of water and becomes light orange when dry,
it is very convenient to know when to re-watering.
Adjust watering depending on your environment.
If you water a Crassula too much, it will rot and die.
In a normally wet place you can almost never water it.
2nd project. Another succulent that is well indoor
the Pilae.
It is a small leaf plant that can grow quite rapidly
in the right conditions.
The color is nice and the structure is quite airy.
With this pot that is wider, and the combination of colors
it will create something nice very simply.
A grid in the bottom is fixed.
Gravel to the pot bottom.
And a basic mix for bonsai as substrate. Watch my video
about soil mic for more details.
The pilae requires a little richer soil to grow and as we use moss
this mixture will be perfect.
We remove the plant from its original pot.
Oops, it happens! everything is fine...
Placing the plant on half the pot, just to give room for the next step
on rajoute le mélange de terre
It gently tamp
and we will add pieces of moss
It will slowly develop and it will be relaxing
and interesting to see developed progressively.
Watered abundantly.
At the office, pour a glass of water or a small bottle holding the pot above a sink,
it is necessary that the water flows through the hole below.
Before choosing a plant check if your environment is ok and the plant will be fine.
I assure you that to watch and take a few minutes to regularly
maintain your office plant will be good for your morale,
it will disconnect and gain perspective on your work!
