On October 16, 2012, the Enterprise Services Desk team
will publish organization changes to the online Services Catalog
based on feedback from you, our customer.
The new layout will allow for easier browsing of services.
New service categories and subcategories will be introduced.
Frequent users of the catalog will notice the change.
So let's take a quick tour of the new design.
First off, know that the search mechanism in the catalog is not changing.
You can still search for a particular service by clicking the Look Up icon.
Access all services by searching without entering a Keyword.
Services are returned in order of popularity.
The first screen of the catalog will feature all of the major service categories.
In most cases, selecting a service category will direct you to the list of all related services.
The back arrow will return you to the previous screen and the home icon always takes you home.
In some cases, a subcategories menu helps narrow results within a category.
Choose the most appropriate Subcategory to access the list of services.
Now, let’s look at some important changes.
ACES Product Catalog services are now accessible under the ACES Product Catalog (APC) category.
This includes Price Match requests, requests to add items to the APC, Returns, and Request for Quotes.
You can access the APC by Requesting APC General Purchase and selecting ACES Product Catalog.
Within the APC, you will find a variety of items not available in the ESD catalog
such as thumb drives or other external storage devices, power cords, graphics cards.
It’s important to note that some APC services that are related to a specific computing seat are accessible
within the order form for the Seat with the ESD Catalog.
For example, for some seats, you can upgrade a graphics card or additional RAM
from the APC when placing your Seat Order.
The Miscellaneous Services category includes Expert Services
by Operating System and Other ACES Services.
The Other ACES services category is home to several NOMAD requests among other services.
Equipment moves can be found in the new Moves Category.
Request a Local Area Network connection under the Network Services category.
Under Computing Seat Services, in the Other Seat Services subcategory
you will find a variety of Seat related options including Data Transfer,
Add Software/Hardware, Desubscribe Seat, Early Refresh of a Seat,
Elevated Privileges, and Loaner Pool Checkout among other services.
Need an Instant Meeting request or a new NOMAD distribution List?
Visit the new Collaboration Services category.
We hope that the new layout will help you more easily place your requests.
Remember, if you have difficulty navigating the catalog or getting your order placed,
you can contact the ESD 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
