Okay so a bit of a different pick up today, but today I went into Cash Converters and
I bought myself Prisoner Cell Block H Vol 1 on DVD. So it's episodes 1-32, now Prisoner
Cell Block H is one of my all time favorite TV shows, I used to watch it when it was being
shown in the UK from the late 80's to the early . It's an Australian soap opera that's
set in a womens prison, it's quite corny and cheesy, but that's what gives it so much charm.
As you can see the price is £25 but that's not what I paid for it cos I didn't get this
from Riley's DVD's, I got this from Cash Converters, and I paid £13.99 for it, and this is about
the same price that you'd pay for it from ebay, only usually on ebay the DVD's are used,
whereas this one is actually brand new and sealed. So, I don't usually buy DVD's but
I wouldn't mind trying to get the complete collection of Prisoner Cell Block H DVD's,
there is a lot cos it was a soap opera and it ran from 1979 to 1986, so I think there's
something like almost 700 episodes. So I may buy one volume once a month or something,
just depends how I feel, I think there's 20 volumes in all, each time I pick up a volume
though I'm not going to make a video of it because there's not really much point, I don't
really think you're gonna see anything much different from what you're gonna see in this
video. Yeah so it's an 8 DVD set.... so 32 episodes in this volume, over 25 hours...
I guess this is bonus stuff, it says that it includes audio commentary on episode 1 from
producer Ian Bradley, who's who of Wentworth, case files, meet the press game, the Wentworth
files, who's who on both side of the bars, Wentworth galleria, and photo's and still
from the show. So this was made in 2011 this DVD. So let's open it up... kinda looks a
bit like a VHS case cos it's so thick. So this is disc 1 and special features, episodes
1-4, I think each episode is about an hour long. Disc 2, put this down actually, disc
3, disc 4, 5 and this has got special features on it as well, disc 6, 7, and 8. And it's
got some writing on the inside of this case, they're talking about each episode. So yeah,
definatley looking forward to watching this, it's been a long time since I've watched Prisoner
Cell Block H. It's got a cult following, like back in the day when it was on TV a lot of
people I knew really liked it, but there was also a lot of people who really didn't like
it at all either, so I guess it's one of those either love it or hate it shows. Not really
sure how to close this properly. Can't seem to close it properly, it's something to do
with these stacks of DVD's. I'll sort it out later. The weird thing is though is that, like most of the volumes are this size, but
there's 2 or 3 volumes which are way thicker than this, they're about that thick, so I'm
not sure what thats all about, I guess for some reason they've got more discs in them
or whatever. So yeah, so that's pretty much it, thanks for watching.
