Have you actually thought about the things we often take for granted in our daily lives?
For example, education, shelter and...Water? Imagine a life without water. No. Stop. Because
there wouldn't be one. Water is one of the most essential needs of
the human body. And yet today, two million people do not have clean, drinkable water
in Sierra Leone. And only in Sierra Leone. The water that they can access contains diseases,
bacteria, and pollutants. Yet with the village living so far away from a water source, women
and children (the ones who are usually collecting the water) must face dangers on their long
walk. It could take up to hours to get 20 L of water, making the several young girls
who collect water miss school and miss the chance to be educated. As Canadians, the average
use of water is 329 L of water per day. How much water do you use? If it's suddenly cut
down drastically and replaced by unclean water, would you still have enough water for your
family to eat, drink, cook, clean and maintain personal hygiene? Charity:Water is dedicated
to ending this. As a non-profit organization, charity:water raises funds and drills wells
in villages. Bringing clean, safe water close to the people. This is where we come in. By
donating to charity:water, we can help Sierra Leone get clean, safe, drinking water. If
water was close, the children won't have to walk so many hours to get water, improving
attendence in schools. If water was clean, the risk of getting life-threatening diseases
would decrease. Even if you could not donate, you can still share this video! To your friends,
family, acquaintences, peers, anyone! The more people know, the more people there are
to help. Just $20 can make a child in the village attend school each day. Visit charitywater.org.
