My name is Agnes, I'm aerialist and today I present an aerial silk duo with Thomas.
I am also a floor and trapeze acrobat.
I'm Thomas, I do aerial silk and contortion
And I have a show with Agnes present here.
I already practiced aerial silk for several years,
Thomas is contortionist, he discovered and had a good level with tissue,
We said "hey, we'll try to do something together"
We already had an event based on the theme of Cabaret
We looked to each other on figures that made us happy,
That we wanted to do, and that sounded good.
When the feeling passes between two artists, between two people, it rolls !
There is little time that I started the circus, it was four years ago
And at some point, I was looking for a place to train more regularly, almost daily.
At the same time, I met Agnes also looking for a place to train.
So, it was agreed to train together at the same place
And I thought it was a good opportunity for me
Because it could make me evolve…
This show is born of an encounter.
This is a circus discipline, I think it's an impressive discipline
And at the same time combines grace and flexibility.
It's also an aerial technique relatively easy to install in a room or in a big top
And can be offer to a wide audience.
Contortion when you do aerial silk is a plus.
I mean I want to do aerial silk this way
Because I don't have a huge technical background allows me to chain a bunch of figures
That require strength and endurance.
It's not necessarily work with tissue that particularly interested me.
Thomas would be more in the delicacy and contortion and I like what is dynamic, prowess.
I think, contortion with tissue for me is a good compromise,
Already because it's not necessarily very common so I manage to draw a kind of originality.
I discovered aerial silk which was a graceful and physical discipline
And I learn with others what we call "keys"
The basic shapes to fin on the tissue
And then, once I was comfortable on it, free rein to everyone's imagination
And everyone's artistic composition...
So, this is also a discipline that I have often seen as spectator and that I really combines with circus arts
That I like, I mean, ua kind of feat even if I don't see me into that...
