Hi, it's Kristi Leigh from Mix 107.7 and I am at Adventures On The Gorge in West Virginia.
And I have had a fantastic time. We've done all sorts of stuff.
Okay, on the first day we decided that we were going to go down the river.
We went on the Upper New and I took the boys. I took my friend Becky.
And we got in little duckies, and we got in two-person duckies or we could have gone on the raft.
And we went down the river. Just some nice slow paddling--very relaxing.
Beautiful scenery, and then we hit a couple of rapids. We had some class II's, some class III's.
And it was really fun. And then we would just come to some still pools and we would just paddle along.
We'd see wildlife alongside the riverbanks. It was fantastic. A great time for the whole family.
And if you're, you know, not so sure if you want to do something really out there and crazy
this would really be the trip for you because it's very slow and easy and the rapids were very nice.
On day two we decided to take the canopy tour. Now this is really cool. I'm like, "What's a canopy tour?"
Well, it's you going through the trees. It is so fun. You start out very easy.
And you have a little training course, and then there are ten zip lines throughout.
But in between those you are on the bridges and you are hiking through the woods.
And it is fantastic because your guides know everything there is to know.
They told us what kind of tree was this and what's endangered and "Oh, look at that deer."
And it's just amazing, and then at the end, we got to rappell down.
And, you know, I've never rappelled down anything. You know me. I'm the couch potato.
But you just swing around and you just slide right down there.
And the zip lines are super safe. The guides take care of everything.
You don't even touch the clips. They clipped it in--so safe. I did it. My kids did it.
I let both kids do it and it was really, really fun. You got to try it.
Up next was paintball. No one had ever played paintball before.
And I thought, "You know, I can do this."
But I couldn't do this. I couldn't shoot. I couldn't hit anybody.
But guess who's an expert? Yes, it was Evan. You all know Evan. And Evan pelted me many, many times.
I have all the welts to prove it, but it was so much fun. We had great referees and guides.
All kinds of games. You know, it was fantastic. I loved the paintball--one of the best things here.
The next thing we did was the Gravity line. It was the zip line.
And now I thought, "You know, we did the zip line and the canopy tour. It's got to be pretty much the same thing."
But it's not at all. It's like apples and oranges. It was fantastic.
I screamed the whole way down. And you just hold on and you're sitting in that harness--super safe.
And then there was the Adrena-line. This was the last zip we went on.
And it was 3,150 feet long and I was going between 50 and sixty miles per hour.
It one of the most amazing things I've ever done before.
But so safe. Didn't touch--I didn't have to brake myself. I didn't have to do anything.
I just rode all the way down over the beautiful scenery. And ti was amazing.
And, you know what, this is the longest zipline on the east coast. It's fantastic. You've got to try it.
We chose an all-inclusive plan which, I think, is really the way to go.
We stayed in a fantastic cabin. It was called the Sportsman cabin. It was air-condtioned.
Tons of beds in there. It had a refrigerator, a microwave, coffee pot, you know, shower--everything you need.
You can go more primitive if you want or you can go even higher up and get a hot tub in your room. How about that?
So there's something for everybody, butt he all-inclusive plan is really the way to go.
And you don't have to worry about anything. You don't have to have money ready or get your credit card out.
Everything is included. As soon as we were done, they gave us our schedule.
And as soon as we were done with one activity, we would go to maybe Buffler's or we would go to Smokey's.
Now Smokey's is this fantastic restaurant and it has an all-you-can-eat buffet.
Oh my gosh, so good. And then there's Bufflers and they have these amazing ribs. They have this great rib night.
Big party--everybody comes in. They have bands. They have a huge playground for the kids.
There is just something for everyone. And if you want to go out on a, you know, a crazy ride but you don't think your kids want to go on.
They have a kids camp too. This really is for the whole family. It's fantastic and I know that your family will love it too.
Just get the all-inclusive package. It's Adventures On The Gorge, and I could not endorse it even more.
It's Kristi Leigh. And I love it!
