Cherished British comedy writer remembered. The talented Mr. John Sullivan passed away
on Saturday, April 23 at the age of 64. Best known for his timeless classic, “Only Fools
and Horses,” a BAFTA-winning television comedy series he created and wrote that aired
for over a decade, Mr. Sullivan's other famed works include “Citizen Smith” and “Just
Good Friends.” Among the many colleagues who paid tribute to the writer's life were
Mark Freeland, head of BBC's comedy department, who called him the Charles Dickens of our
generation, and “Only Fools and Horses” lead actor David Jason, who said, “We’ve
lost our country’s greatest comedy writer, but he leaves a great legacy – the gift
of laughter.”
Our sympathies to the loved ones of Mr. John Sullivan, whose timeless creations will continue
bringing joy to the hearts of many. May his soul rest peacefully in Heaven's love and
light
