The fool says: “There is no God.
Think for a moment about one simple and undeniable truth which is so obvious, but yet so tragically repressed and banished from our minds, from our consciousness.
Think for a moment about the fact how truly small and fragile are we, humans.
The world usually thinks and speaks about human magnitude and of notions such as human power and accomplishments,
and that way the world’s philosophers become intoxicated and blind for basic and sobering truth, namely, how weak and insignificant we truly are...
In the limitless space of an endless universe and in relation to the infinite eternity, we, humans – who are here today and gone tomorrow –
are unspeakably small, infinitely small. And that is our largely forgotten and repressed reality.
The cause and consequence of repressing this undeniable truth are human arrogance and self-sufficiency.
We are generally used to look at and to think about ourselves and our relevancy, about our magnitude, beauty and power.
Albert Einstein once said that we humans possess only one percent of all knowledge in the universe.
Today, many things indicate that we actually know even far, far less than one percent.
Even though we are so unutterably insignificant, even though we are so helplessly fragile and limited, even though in this endless cosmic space,
through thousands of years, we haven’t moved farther from this earth and our view of the moon,
even though we don’t have a clue what is on the other side of the universe,
we are sufficiently arrogant, proud and confident to declare: “There is no God!” In order to make such claim – “There is no God” – with certainty,
one needs first to know and understand the mystery of an endless time and space and the mysteries of the spirit and matter,
he has to be at the same time in every spot of the universe, he has to understand the mysteries of life,
mind and consciousness, and only than could we make such claim with all credibility and assurance.
Therefore, God Himself, in Scripture written to every human, says in Psalm 14: “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ ...
The Lord has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.”
Notice that God declares unreasonable and foolish all those who easily and arrogantly declare Him non-existing, all those who don’t want to seek Him.
In the fifth chapter of the 1st Letter of John, God says that His testimony is greater than that of humans. In other words,
arguments that God gives to the world are stronger and greater than human speculations, philosophy and arrogance.
Jesus Christ came, says the word of God, to give us back our common sense so that we could know the True God.
In the same way, those who open themselves and trust God’s testimony, God’s arguments, they personally get to know him and have their own, living,
deep experience that God is real. Those who persistently reject Him are in fact, according to God’s word, proclaiming Him a liar. And that is arrogance.
In Psalm 145, God’s word says: “The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him:
he also will hear their cry, and will save them.” Through the prophet Isaiah, in chapter 55, Scripture says:
“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts:
and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him.” To not seek God, according to God’s word, means to reject common sense.
Jesus’ death at the cross is the most powerful argument that God is truly love and that He wants and can save us from arrogance and destruction.
Jesus’ death and resurrection is the most powerful argument proving that God wants us to get to know Him and that He wants to forgive us and give us new, eternal life.
To not seek such God, such love, means to reject common sense. Seek Him because He is waiting to reveal Himself to you; because He is already seeking you.
Call Him and you will not be disappointed. Open your heart to Him, open the doors of your life, believe and you will be blessed. Jesus is alive.
Jesus is present. Jesus is the only solution.
