Film Nation Shorts is a great opportunity for anyone between the age of 11 to 25 to
get involved in making short films, and to get help from people within the industry and
funding and stuff.
Getting film out of young people - and also across the world – for London 2012 is a
great idea.
You can practice – just make a three-minute film with your friends.
It’s a great thing because you’re able to capture a story in such a short space of
time.
As long as your story has heart, and it’s something that you’re passionate about…
it’s a story that you want people to see… I think those are the tools that you need.
There are great themes, you know. And the idea of having stories about friendship and
determination… and all these great stories which strike a chord within everyone.
To have a word that you want to capture – I think – is probably a great thing to
have. If someone says, ‘make a film that’s about this’… a word to think on and focus
on.
For the film industry, it is very important at any age, to be very, very passionate about
what you do.
With the Olympics coming really close, I think it’s a great time to have more of those
films out there and for young people to be involved in doing so.
Anything you make, it can change someone’s life in some way.
