Okay so you know its been a long time. Its been a really long time, and we’ve had our
good times, don’t get me wrong. We’ve had our good times, but we’ve also had our
bad times. And I’m just up to here with it. I just can’t do it anymore. I really
think we need to break up, and its not you, its me. No, actually it is you. I’m sorry,
I cant do it anymore. Its over.
I started wearing glasses and contacts when I was about 8 years old. I’m 33 now. It’s
been a long time. There’s so many reasons why I’ve wanted LASIK for a long time. I’m
on the go. I have bad allergies so waking up your eyes are just red, and trying to get
contacts in, and sometimes I get up at 2:30 in the morning, and if you ever tried to put
contacts in tired eyes, it’s not pretty. I went through a lot of word of mouth, and
everyone kept saying ‘Berkeley’s the best, Berkeley’s the best.’ I heard it on the
radio. I saw it on TV. Everywhere I go everyone says Berkeley’s the best. So after doing
a lot of research and checking online, it was the best. So now I’m about to go in
there and get my LASIK surgery done, and I cannot wait. They’re waiting for me.
Oh my God it was so easy. Everyone was freaking me out, like, ‘You have to take the ***.
It’s gonna be crazy!’ It was so easy. And so quick too. I’m so glad I decided
to do it, but I’m like, why did I wait so long? If I had known it was going to be that
easy, I would have come in a long time ago. It was a huge deal for me just because I haven’t
been able to see for a long time, so even just when I walked out, even just walking
out, I know I just got the surgery done, but I could see so much better than when I walked
in. I could actually see faces.
Any irritation or discomfort at all? Nope.
After the procedure I’ve just experienced nothing but greatness because I can actually
wake up and see everything. Before I just woke up and could see nothing. I heard my
son moving around in his little bassinette, and I opened up my eyes and looked over at
him, and I could actually see him, and he was looking at me, and he was smiling. And
it was like, it really could not have been a more perfect vision to see the first time.
So, I wake up, and I see him, and he’s smiling, and I’m like oh my God, I can see you. It
was the most beautiful thing ever.
My mom has always been afraid of LASIK because you just don’t know. You’re always afraid
of something that you don’t know. I told her I went in there and 10 minutes later-
really it took about 10 minutes. It was not scary at all. It was the easiest thing ever,
and I can see so much better now without contacts, even better than when I had my contacts or
glasses. So, my Facebook friends, all my family members are like ‘I thought it was hard’
or ‘I thought it was really expensive.’ All of these things that have been going on
in their head; none of it’s true. It’s so funny, I was talking to my hairdresser
today. And she’s like ‘Where did you go to get your LASIK?’ And I said ‘Berkeley,’
and she says, ‘Oh, yeah, I hear them all the time. I hear about them all the time.’
It’s like everybody knows if you’re in Houston, you know the best place to go is
Berkeley. Where you want to go is where everybody says they’ve had the best results. And Berkeley
is. If you listen to the radio, if you listen to anybody, the best results are from Berkeley.
I spend so much money on things for the kids and things for the house, and I’m always
taking care of everyone else. And this was like the one thing I did for me. This was
truly a gift for me, and it’s going to last for the rest of my life. And it’s just made
such a huge difference. Definitely worth it.
