Hi there and welcome to Webtogs.
Today we're taking a look at the Base Camp range of duffel bags from The North Face.
Now, these are a design classic that have been around for a while. I should know, I've
had one for several years myself, and there's a good reason for that. Simply put, they're
bombproof, and exceptionally well made.
Starting off with the fabric on the outside, North Face have used a laminate fabric, to
ensure that the bags are virtually waterproof. And in terms of everything that's attached
to the bag itself, they've used a combination of both bar tack stitching and double stitching.
Featurewise, you've got two means of carrying the bags.
Firstly, a straightforward carry handle, with a Velcro closure. And you've also got two
alpine shoulder straps as well.
On the outside of the bag, you've got two rows of daisy chains that go on the left and
on the right, to attach any additional gear that you may need.
And you've also got some compression straps. Two on each side of the bag. To finish off,
if you didn't have enough ways of carrying it, you've also got two haulage loops on each
side.
Now for the opening to the bag, firstly you've got a clear ID pocket on top, and the opening
itself is in a D shape with lockable zippers. Inside the bag they've kept it simple, so
you've just got one mesh pocket on the underside.
Now the bag itself has 4 different variants. We have the small here, that's 42 liters.
Then we have the medium at 70, the large at 90,and finally, the extra large, at 140 liters.
And there we have it. The North Face range of Base Camp duffel bags available here at
