TERRY: Around the state of Iowa, many departments are working together to
help talk about the great things that happen in the state.
I thought it'd be kind of fun today to show you a sneak peak of what's happening between us at the
Iowa Lottery
and the, it's called the ABD. Tell everybody what ABD stands for.
STEVE: Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division.
TERRY: So all of the liquor in Iowa comes to a central place and then you guys have to
take it and make sure it gets to all the places for folks out in the, in the state?
STEVE: That's right, Terry.
Over 1.7 million cases of spirits,
another term for liquor, but the the hybrid is spirits, comes through the
Ankeny warehouse and we deliver that across the state every week.
TERRY: Well behind me is one of the trucks and they said, "Hey,
you guys, of course, are great uh... optional revenue for the state of
Iowa and let's make sure people as they're driving across the state know that lottery
products are available."
We did this with a local Iowa company called Image Transform. They do these
big transformations of vehicles like this
with all sorts of graphics. As so, not only is it fun to promote other Iowa departments
but also to promote our local businesses like Image Transform in Grimes. We have
a really cool truck that is a wrapped in Iowa Lottery. And this one talks about
the veteran tickets. Now the Veterans Trust Fund
is a great fund in the state of Iowa.
And proceeds from our veterans tickets
actually goes to the Veterans Trust Fund. Now that Veterans Trust Fund is up nearly
$10 million after three or four years. So it's a huge cause
and one we want everybody to know.
And I just wanted on behalf of the Iowa Lottery to say, "Thank you,"
to administrator Steve Larson at the ABD and all of their employees for
allowing us to
kind of spread the word on this great,
neat deal that were doing with the Veterans Trust Fund.
It's all for you at the state of Iowa, with the Iowa Lottery
and the Iowa ABD.
