Patients suffering from Crohn’s disease are unable to leave a house without previously prepared map of closest toilets.
In the acute stage of the disease, reaction for sudden and common diarrhea have to be immediate.
We have to be prepared all the time, because we never know when we will need to use a toilet.
In 1997 the acute relapse of disease forced me to go to the hospital.
Since then Anna visits hospital several times a year.
Sometimes, already in the morning I can feel that I won’t be able to eat. Then I need to change all my plans for that day.
Inflammatory Bowel Diseases are diseases with still unexplored and complex etiopathogenesis, where significant are some of environmental factors, as well as some immune disorders.
Because of that, treatment is not ideal and far from our expectations.
Nowadays treatment is concentrating on steming the inflammatory process.
Diagnosis of this disease is very difficult.
Crohn’s disease may be located in the large intestine, but also in the small intestine, usually in the final stretch.
At this point we can see correct image of the colon.
And here we can see the changes in the form of bruising, blurring the image.
This is already a pathology.
IBD are chronic and incurable.
Nevertheless, we are trying to treat them, but we cannot promise the patient that we can handle the disease in 100%.
I am very difficult case, because I have only one meter of intestine left.
My body slightly absorbs ingredients which are needed to live.
That’s why from time to time I am coming back here with anemia.
