Ahmed Shafiq campaign headquarters Giza 16 June 2012
Shafiq Campaign: Judges asleep inside polling stations
Today, on the first day of elections..
Marawan Youness, Member Ahmed Shafiq Campaign
..the voter turnout is not very high,
..but I am hopeful
There are still voters until now..
..and they have begun to come out
Our impression is that up till now..
..there has been a good amount of voting in our favor
There have been some violations by some of the other candidates
We are currently collecting the violations..
..at some of the main campaign headquarters
We have 5 or 6 main headquarters
We will decide how to proceed with these violations..
..in accordance to a political decision
We are awaiting this political decision
We are collecting the violations and recording the complaints
The political decision is for minor violations..
..such as influencing voters outside polling stations
We report these violations..
..to those in charge of the electoral process
However, there will be another measure..
..if there are major violations..
..which we do not expect,
..as Egypt's judges will not permit such a thing
The political situation is stable..
..and we are reporting the complaints to the election campaign,
..who take the necessary measures
She voted for Ahmed Shafiq,
..gave the judge her ballot..
..and he made a mark on Mohamed Morsi's name
The judges are asleep in three polling stations
Amr Hassan, Media Coordinator Ahmed Shafiq Campaign
The biggest problems were encountered..
..at the Um al-Moemeneen School Polling Station..
..as a Muslim Brotherhood leader mistakenly voted for Shafiq
He requested a new ballot from the polling station judge..
..who refused saying he could only have one ballot,
..so he negated his vote by marking on Mohamed Morsi's name
I am hoping people will go out..
..and vote in large numbers..
..and that they choose between the civil state and the religious state..
..or the state that we don't know enough about
So, we are calling on people..
..to come out and express their opinions
Egypt needs all of us to build it together
