Hi this is Dave for Expert Village today we're going to discuss champagnes and sparkling
wines okay champagnes and sparkling wines come in different types of flavors and they
call it dryness. There's anything from demi sec and I can explain that in one moment,
most people see as extra dry and brut by extra dry people think that's probably the driest
champagne but it's not, it's sort of a medium one. Brut is the driest champagne other than
a blanc de blanc which is a all Chardonnay grapes so it they don't use something called
dosage in the French is basically dosage of sugar mixed with the wine itself and then
reintroduce into the bottle of champagne. Before it goes into it's secondary fermentation
so you can get any range you like, we have extra dry as I was saying something called
demi sec, sack, sack means dry in French but it's not dry it's very sweet more dessert
type of wine. So you have to look into them a little more further so again the label on
the bottle of champagne like most wines will actually have every information that you need
on here. Now this is a brut you can see there it's a very dry.
