- [Daughter] She said, "Well, it's gonna affect your credit..."
"...turn you over to collection," and started threatening me
and all those that if I didn't pay-- - [Mother] Yeah.
- [Daughter] and they never would let me get a job and it was ridiculous.
- [Mother] Yeah. Yeah. Uh, [collection agency] is bad.
Uh...Sister...she ended up owing, like, $2,500 after she had her child.
from what the insurance paid.
And, uh, they called her and they said, "You have to pay us this amount of money
or you have to pay this amount of money per month."
And she said, "I can't afford to pay that amount of money per month."
And uh, they said, "Well, if you don't, we'll turn you over to collection agency."
And it used to be that even if you paid $25 a month,
they couldn't turn you over to the collection agency.
But I guess that's changed.
Even if you pay $25 a month, they can still turn you over.
And oh, she ran around with them, I don't know how many times.
And, you know, she was cryin' and she actually went to the hospital
and you know, she had to talk to people.
And then one minute, they would say their account was zero,
and the next minute, they'd say, "Oh, you owe us $2,500."
And she said, you know, "Get it straight," so...
- [Daughter] Yeah, I know, that's what that stupid [bleep] did to me.
They say I owe, like, $7,000 to him.
When I turn in the freakin' forms to get the money taken off their systems--
- [Mother] Yeah. Yeah.
- [Daughter] So, it's like, why'd they even give me the forms to fill out
and all that if they were just gonna turn it over to collection?
- [Mother] Yeah, don't even worry about it. What are they gonna do?
