Hello, ASL Community! My name's Awti [here's my sign name], and I ...
.. uh... what...
... whew, that's better...
... uh... what's up with the background change?
Ah, yes - this! I'm going to Minnesota to give my Personification workshop!
Hey, cool! Waitaminnit... didn't you give the exact same
workshop in Minnesota last year?
True, I hosted this workshop in Minnesota last year,
wherein one-third of the participants were *Deaf* ASL professionals. It was a huge success!
Nice, but that doesn't explain the background change...
Huh? Oh, right! Tthough I'm giving the same workshop this year,
it'll be held, not in a plain old conference room.
This year it'll be held here, in a real-world environment - a hospital!
Cool!
Yep! This means that even if you attended last year's workshop,
you can still attend this year and learn tons of new stuff,
because we'll be using what we learn in the workshop
with ACTUAL medical equipment, right there, physically present in the room.
Talk about real-world application!
Nice! Now, you mentioned "Deaf ASL professionals" attending your workshop...
Deaf? Aren't workshops just for hearing interpreters?
Wha? Nonono, this workshop is for "ASL professionals"
which DEFINITELY includes the Deaf!
So if you're a Deaf teacher of Deaf children, perhaps in a Deaf school;
or a Deaf instructor of ASL or interpreters;
or if you're a Deaf interpreter, this workshop is a perfect fit for you!
