You can't get some things from a book. Some things can only be learned by experiencing
them. They connect with the past, and for me that's what this is about. It's about connecting
with people who have lived 100 years ago. It's about putting yourself in their shoes.
It's a please touch place instead of a don't touch place. The hands-on learning is what
you can't always offer in your classroom. So many teachers integrate us into their curriculum.
When they need the Oregon Trail to happen for their students, it happens here. So it's
a totally different way of learning, and it sticks with you whether it's adults or children.
Everyone's appreciation of history starts somewhere.
